Introduction
The Mitel Connect application can be used for dialing calls, listening to voicemails, and searching the directory both at your desk and when working remotely (VPN required)
Logging into Mitel Connect
- Open the Mitel Connect application. You can search for it in the start menu or find it on your desktop.
- Sign into Mitel connect using the following information (Click on “Show advanced” to show the
domain and server options):
- Username: Firstname.Lastname
- Password: changeme
- Domain: leave blank
- Server: 50438voice01
Using Mitel Connect
Searching for a name or number
You can use the search box at the top of Mitel Connect to search for a name or number for someone who also has a Mitel extension.
Adding someone to your favorites
Search for someone in the search box and click the star next to their name to add them to your favorites list.
You can find your favorites under the Contacts > Favorites tabs.
Listening to your voicemails
All your voicemails will be listed under the “Voicemails” tab.
Select the voicemail you want to listen to. You can play it through your phone or through your computer.
Select the speaker icon to listen through your computer speakers.
Select the phone icon to listen through your phone.
Forwarding a voicemail
Select the voicemail you want to forward and click “Forward”.
Enter the name or extension of the person you want to forward the voicemail to and click send.
Managing Availability States
Availability states allow you to set your phone to Available, In a meeting, Out of office, On vacation, Do not disturb, or custom.
- Select the drop-down option under your name.
- You will see the different states you can choose from. NOTE: You will also see a logout option. This is where you will go if you need to sign out of the Mitel Connect app.
Setting up your voicemail
- Click “Connect” on the top blue bar of the connect app.

Click Settings
- A new window will open. Click the Voicemail tab, then the setup tab.
- Select “Record New Name”
- Click the Record button to record your name. You can play it back if you want to review it. Click save when you are done.
- Go back and click the “Call Routing” tab.
- You will be able to record different voicemail greetings for each state. Select the state you want.
- Select “Record” next to Voicemail greeting.
Transferring a call
There are a couple of ways to transfer a call. Option #1
- Click on the active call.
- Click the transfer button.
- Type in the number or person you want to transfer the call to.
- Click Transfer to send it directly to the person. Click “Consult” if you want to talk to the person
you are transferring the call to.
Option #2
- Type in the name or number of the person you want to transfer the call to in the search box.
- Click and drag the active call to the person you want.
Using your phone
Changing your phone state
- Click the button on the phone that corresponds to the State option on the screen of the phone.
- Use the arrow keys on the phone to select the state you want.
- Click OK to change your phone to the selected state.
Reassigning your extension
If you want to assign your extension to a different phone, follow these steps:
- Press the Voicemail button
- If you are using a newer phone, you will see “Call VM” on the screen, press the button directly under “Call VM”. If you are using an older phone, it will automatically call the voicemail.
- Enter your voicemail password and press #
If there is already an extension assigned to the phone, you will need to press #, enter your extension number, then your password.
- Press options 7, 3, 1
To unassign your extension: Press options 7, 3, 2 in step 4.
Setting up your voicemail
- Push the Voicemail button on your phone.
- Press the button that corresponds to the Call VM option on the screen.
- Enter your voicemail password. (Default: 1234 -please change this)
- To record your personal greeting:
- Push the “voicemail” button on the phone
- Press the button for “Call VM”
- Enter your password and hit #
- Choose options 7, 1
- To record your name:
- Login to your voicemail using the steps listed above
- Choose options 7, 6
