Creating a Project Plan Report for BI Reporting (For Project Managers)

This KB details setting up an automatic report for TDX project plans so that project data can be used in Power BI.

First, go to your TDX homepage and open the "View Applications" tab in the top left:

Select projects from the list of applications. On the projects page, click the Reports drop down in the top right and click New Report:

When the page prompts you to select a report type, click the Plan Report option. On the following page, set the report name to your "department+BIAPI", for example "EngineeringBIAPI". Scroll down to "Select the columns you would like to see", click Add, and select ProjectID from the dropdown:

The rest of the columns listed by default can be left as is.

Finally, scroll down to the last option on the page titled "Email Delivery". Click add, and in the pop up window set Interval to Daily, Time to 6:00AM, Format to Excel, Recipients to Data Connection, and check all the boxes below Recipients:

Click Save in the pop up window and then click Save at the top of the page to finish setting up the report. This will allow project plan data to be used in Power BI reporting.
