1. Is Stellar Industries installing antivirus or monitoring software on my personal phone?
No. Stellar Industries does not install antivirus, monitoring, tracking, or surveillance software on the personal portion of your device. Any security controls are limited strictly to the Stellar Industries work profile used to protect company data.
2. What exactly is a “work profile”?
A work profile is a secure, segregated container on your mobile device that holds only Stellar Industries–related apps and data. It is completely separate from your personal apps, photos, messages, and accounts. Stellar IT can manage only the work profile — not the rest of your device.
3. Can Stellar IT see my personal information?
No. Stellar IT cannot view, access, or collect personal emails, text messages, photos, contacts, call logs, browsing history, or personal applications on your device.
4. What can Stellar IT see or manage?
Stellar IT can only:
- Manage Stellar Industries–approved applications inside the work profile
- Enforce basic security requirements (such as a passcode) to protect company data
- Remove the work profile if the device is lost, replaced, or when employment ends
5. Will enrolling my device affect how I use my phone personally?
No. Your personal apps, settings, and data remain unchanged. The work profile operates independently and does not interfere with your normal personal use of the device.
6. What apps will be installed?
Only approved Stellar Industries applications will be made available in the work profile, based on your role. These may include Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and approved Wi-Fi access tools. Personal apps are not installed, modified, or removed by Stellar IT.
7. What happens if my phone is lost, stolen, or replaced?
You must notify Stellar IT immediately. IT will remove or secure the work profile only to protect company data. Your personal data will not be wiped.
8. What happens when I leave Stellar Industries
When employment ends, Stellar IT will remove the work profile and all Stellar Industries data from your device. Your personal data and apps will remain untouched.
9. Is enrolling my personal device mandatory?
No. Participation in the BYOD program is voluntary. However, employees who choose not to enroll a personal device may not be able to access Stellar Industries email or resources on a mobile device.
10. Why does Stellar Industries require this at all?
Stellar Industries has a responsibility to protect company and customer data. The work profile allows employees to securely access company resources while respecting personal privacy and maintaining clear separation between work and personal data.
11. Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns?
If you have questions about this policy or how the work profile works, please contact Stellar IT through the IT Help Desk portal before enrolling your device.
