Referral Bonus Policy

Purpose: Stellar encourages employee-owners to refer family and friends to open positions.  The referral bonus is an incentive offered to employee-owners to promote referrals of quality candidates.  Referring a candidate involves encouraging them to apply for a position at Stellar and promoting the company to them. 

Eligibility:

  • Eligible Employees: Stellar Industries employees, except those involved in the direct hiring process of a referred candidate, are eligible to receive incentive. Employees involved in the direct hiring process include: hiring manager, interview team, HR representatives, etc.
  • Eligible Candidates: Rehires and current temporary, summer, and contract employees of Stellar are not eligible candidates.  All other candidates referred to regular, full-time positions at Stellar are considered eligible referrals.  Referrals expire 6 months from submission if the candidate is not hired.

Process:

  1. Referring employees MUST submit the electronic referral form to HR prior to the candidate’s hire date.  There are no exceptions.    
  2. All candidates will be evaluated for employment in accordance with Stellar’s policies and procedures. Only candidates who meet the required qualifications for the position will be considered. Hiring decisions are confidential.  Due to privacy laws, HR cannot provide updates on candidate status.  
  3. Upon hire, HR will review the form to confirm eligibility in accordance with this policy. 
  4. Payout is contingent on the referred candidate being hired and remaining employed: 90 days for first payment and 6 months for 2nd payment.  Both the referring employee and the referred candidate must be employed at the time of payment.  If either has separated the company, the referral payment will be forfeited. 
  5. Bonuses will be grossed up and paid out in a lump-sum payment.      
  6. The bonus will be paid out to the direct deposit account on file as soon as practical after successful completion of program requirements.

Award:

  • $1,000 total bonus
    • $200 paid after 90 days
    • $800 paid after 6 months 

Additional Considerations:

  • Only one employee-owner per candidate will be eligible to receive a referral bonus.  If multiple employee-owners submit a referral form, the eligible employee-owner will be determined first by the name listed on the application and second by the earliest date of referral form submission, if necessary. 
  • Any disputes or interpretations of this program will be handled by HR. 
  • Stellar reserves the right to modify or terminate this program at any time.
